      Hi Everyone!

I’ve been collecting minerals for my entire life, with a particular focus on specimens from Namibia, though I occasionally add pieces from South Africa as well. Over the years, I’ve developed a special affinity for the Kalahari Manganese Fields and Tsumeb deposits – both hold an incredible variety of beautiful and unique minerals that I can never get enough of.

One of my most cherished pieces is a Jozini geode that I received from my dad when I was a child. It’s always held a special place in my collection, and every time I look at it, I’m reminded of the joy and excitement that first sparked my passion for mineral collecting.

I also have fond memories of many collecting trips to the Orange River, especially to the Pella area. Camping at the Noumas pegmatite is another unforgettable experience I hold dear!

I look forward to connecting with fellow collectors here and hearing about your experiences, as well as sharing stories and knowledge about some of the incredible mineral specimens that have shaped my collection over the years!

<span style=”font-size: 17px;”>For the past 22 years, I have been on an exhilarating journey as a dedicated collector of rocks and minerals, with a special focus on the rich geology of Southern Africa. This remarkable region, known for its stunning diversity of geological formations and mineral deposits, has been my playground and source of inspiration. </span>

<span style=”font-size: 17px;”>Beginning my collection in a small town nestled within the breathtaking landscapes of South-Africa, I was captivated by the vibrant colors and unique textures of the stones I found. Each piece I collected told a story of the Earth’s ancient past, and I felt compelled to unearth these stories while expanding my knowledge of mineralogy and geology.</span>

<span style=”font-size: 17px;”>As my passion grew, I gradually transitioned towards the Kalahari Manganese Fields, a world-renowned mineral-rich area known for its exceptional quality manganese ores and stunning mineral specimens. The Kalahari not only offered new challenges in my collecting endeavors but also introduced me to rare and beautiful minerals that became treasured pieces of my collection.</span>

<span style=”font-size: 17px;”>I’ve also ventured into Tsumeb, a legendary mining town in Namibia celebrated for its remarkable mineral diversity and unique specimens. The rich deposits found in Tsumeb have allowed me to add some truly spectacular pieces to my growing collection, strengthening my appreciation for the natural artistry of minerals.</span>

<span style=”font-size: 17px;”>I would say one of my personal favourites would be a red rhodochrosite covered with a secondary pink coating. Everytime I see it, I just fall in love with it again.</span>
<span style=”font-size: 17px;”>So far it has been a fulfilling adventure, one that has deepened my love and appreciation for the natural world.</span>

      Hi Everyone

I have actively been collecting for the last 3 year, starting with 2 or 3 pieces i now have a collection of more than 500 pieces from various locations.

Currently my focus are on UV reactive minerals as well as my main weakness anything botryoidal 🙂

Currently my favourite piece is a papagoite cluster from the Artonvilla mine.

Look forward to learing lots here!

Hi everyone! I’m Annie, or you could call me Mothy, either one of those two are fine.

Very, very new to collecting but I’m eagerly learning whatever I can! If I HAD to choose a few favourites, they’d be amethyst, agate, rose quartz, citrine, emeralds, sapphires, rubies, topaz, malachite and shattuckite!
